New Hours Beginning in March! Starting on Saturday, March 6th, Vertical World Seattle will be open from 8am until 8pm on Weekends. Lead Climbing Series Fridays, March 19th, 26th, and April 2nd. 6 – 8pm Learn the ins and outs of Lead Climbing in this six hour series. The workshop will be three 2-hour classes and will give you all the skills you’ll need to lead confidently in the gym. We will cover judgment and risks, clipping, rope management, and belaying; plus we’ll spend ample time practicing all these skills. We will also work in depth on taking and catching lead falls so students can climb and project with confidence on the sharp end of the rope. Little Rockers Spring Break Camp Monday - Friday, March 29th – April 2nd 9am – 12pm Come spend spring break with us! This week long camp will be a bundle of fun for kids age 6-9. We’ll take the mornings to climb, play games, and have fun while working on our climbing skills and techniques. We will be doing new things daily, with activities designed to keep the most energetic kids engaged, and our focus will be on safety and having fun learning to climb. Bouldering Technique Series Tuesday Mornings, on-going 6:30 – 8:30am This new morning series is perfect for climbers new to bouldering or who want to improve their skills. This class will cover all of the basics of bouldering indoors and prepare you for the reality of bouldering outside. You will learn how to translate better bouldering into skills that directly improve your roped climbing. Plus get a chance to meet new people and embrace the social nature of working projects and bouldering in a group. Finally participants can look forward to getting personal instruction on how to improve their climbing in multiple areas from an experienced coach. Junior Program Spring Rock Climbing Tieton River Climbing Trip Saturday, 27th, 8am – Monday, 29th until 9pm To celebrate another rad year of climbing and fun with the Junior Program Vertical World Seattle is taking their young climbers out to the Tieton River for a weekend of fun in the sun. This beautiful valley is on the East side of the Cascades and is home to some beautiful volcanic columns or rock that make for great sport and crack climbing. Junior Program participants will be able to work on all the climbing skills they learned so far: top-roping, mock-leading, bouldering, rappelling, crack climbing and more. Oh, don’t we all wish we were young and climbing in the sun again.
