GUIDED OUTDOOR EVENTS The Great Outdoors is a continuation of our company philosophy of providing the best indoor climbing experience to our customers. Through the Great Outdoors we aim to provide the best outdoor recreational experiences possible through programs run by experienced, qualified and passionate instructors and guides. Our goal is to promote responsible and safe outdoor recreation by providing top-notch instruction while building awareness and respect for our finite wilderness and climbing areas.
All of our trips are educational, fun and led by guides whose knowledge and skill is matched by their passion for the outdoors. Our trips include climbing, kayaking, snowshoeing, hiking, cycling and more.

PRIVATE GUIDING & INSTRUCTION
Whether you’re looking to do a private day on a route in Washington, get your children safely out on the local rock, or need to refresh your self-rescue skills, let The Great Outdoors, and one of our experienced guides, meet your specific needs.
Kirt Hodges: Seattle Vertical World – Kirt, a Wilderness First Responder, has guided a diverse variety of outdoor trips, from climbing courses to restoration work crews, in both the Southeast and around the Pacific Northwest. His passion for not only climbing but environmental learning and the wilderness are infectious!
Kevin McCluskey: Seattle Vertical World – When not teaching at Vertical World, Kevin is a mountaineering Course Leader for the National Outdoor Leadership School and an avid climber in the front country, back country, and everywhere in between! Kevin is also a Wilderness First Responder.
Morgan Miller: Redmond Vertical World – An AMGA Top-Rope Site Manager and Wilderness First Responder, Morgan has been guiding climbing, backpacking and canoe trips for many years in the Northeast, Midwest and Washington. He loves teaching and sharing his passion for mountain sport, culture and lifestyle.
